How to Switch from Descript to Sora
A step-by-step guide to migrating your data, settings, and workflows from Descript to Sora without losing anything. Estimated total time: 1.5–3 hours.
Before You Start
- • Back up all your data from Descript before beginning the migration
- • Ensure you have admin access to both accounts
- • Schedule the migration during low-activity hours to minimize disruption
- • Keep both subscriptions active during the transition period (at least 2 weeks)
Migration Steps
Export your data from Descript
15-30 minLog into Descript, navigate to Settings → Export, and download your data in CSV or JSON format. Make sure to include all projects, contacts, and configuration settings.
Prepare your data for import
20-45 minReview the exported data and map fields to Sora's format. Most tools use similar field names, but check for any custom fields that need manual mapping.
Import data into Sora
15-30 minUse Sora's import wizard (usually found in Settings → Import) to upload your prepared data. Run a test import with a small batch first to verify field mapping.
Verify and configure

Cancel Descript subscription
